A woman is paid only the base salary and complements, and it is not included in the pay variables and concepts of objectives. The lactation consultant salary of working women who want to breast-feed (natural or artificial) to their child under 9 months, have the right to have an hour off work, that can be divided into two halves. Also, if a woman wants, this right can be replaced by a reduction of their working time in half an hour at the beginning and the end of the day. This leave may be taken by the mother or the father if they both work. It is also allowed to accumulate in several days that all hours are reserved.

Some large companies were misinterpreting this regulation reducing the salary in unison with the reduction of the day. However, a judgment recognized the right to request time off work for breastfeeding risk, as recognized by the law. A worker at the hospital has won a final judgment that can serve other nursing mothers who are similarly situated. A report had identified that as a danger "the lack of privacy to express milk," but the worker had been denied initially off work.

This is a plant worker who requested a change of department after giving birth and start the breastfeeding period. The woman was denied this request and therefore requested time off work, which also was denied. She alleged the existence of risks to breastfeeding in the workplace.

The service Occupational Health and Safety issued a report, which warned of the risk work while breastfeeding. These risks are highlighted "the lack of privacy to express milk if necessary in the staff lounge."

But the Director of Nursing referred to the Human Resources Department a report setting out that was not available from any workstation compatible with the situation of women, nor shouldered in the lactation consultant salary of the doctor. She therefore asked for sick leave during their infancy, as recognized in law.

The situation for low risk during breastfeeding must be recognized and is entitled to the benefit of 100% of the base. This is excellent news that will help many other mothers in similar circumstances who are not afraid to demand the rights that the law recognizes for themselves and their babies. Women have the right to request that their working conditions are compatible with breastfeeding or take days off if this is not possible. This statement recognizes the low risk labor in infancy has been implemented.
